Leaving Geelong in 1980 Carolyn had 35 years living in regional Victoria enjoying country communities and the outdoor lifestyle in the Grampians and North East Victoria. After returning to this region, the beach, as well as the bush, continue to provide contemplation and inspiration for her designs.
A qualified gold and silversmith she has 30 years practice creating, exhibiting and teaching metalwork and jewellery.
A twelve month break in New Zealand studying a Jade and Hard Stone Carving course was inspirational in developing Carolyn’s sculptural work in the last ten years. New skills of stone-carving and welding have opened up large scale work and a lot of creative fun.
Carolyn has experience in community arts, adult and community education and workshops, and TAFE and secondary art teaching. She has worked in an artist co-operative and her own retail outlet and is currently designing her jewellery and sculpture from a home studio in Point Lonsdale with an on-line store.
