Come on People ! Artist, Music Lovers!

Posted 26 October 2017

The concert is called Phase One Intent, and is being performed by ancalled Revival House Project, which sees artists from a range of disciplines such as opera singers and film makers who combine their practice into a unique show which pushes the boundaries of the traditional classical recital context.  Louise Keast soprano, Shikara Ringdahl mezzo-soprano and Mark Connors piano, will perform two German song-cycles alongside a filmic accompaniment by artist Alex Hobba.

This concert, “Phase One Intent // A Reflection on Mortality”, is the culmination of an artist’s residency in Germany which Revival House Project undertook in February 2017. Opera singers Louise and Shikara received vocal tutelage from operatic master teachers in Vienna, Berlin and Munich, where they intensively studied the song-cycles Kindertotenlieder by Gustav Mahler, and Unvergänglichkeit by Erich Wolfgang Korngold. The trip also focused on filming intuitively in the landscape, and it is footage from this residency which artist Alex Hobba has made into a film, a visual accompaniment to be specifically paired with these song-cycles. The concert will be followed by refreshments.
