CrossXpollinatioN is an annual exhibition at both COPACC and RRRTAG (Red Rocks Regional Theatre and Art Gallery.) It has been held each year for the last four years and has built up to become a major fixture in the regions cultural calendar, attracting artists from all over Australia. We intend to grow this event into something that puts Colac Otway Shire on the map for those who love innovative and highly creative interpretations of the wonderful world of fabric and fibre, either as a practising artist or as a collector and wearer of the pieces.
The event includes FLIGHT@COPACC, in the Civic Hall from 1 July to 23 July, 10am to 4pm daily. There is a Featured Artists section with artists invited to submit an installation, and The Art Prize exhibition, which runs alongside the featured artists. This year we have 5 feature artists: Andrew Delaney, Irene Manion and Liz Powell as well as local artists Brian Worsley and Carole Redlich who have combined forces to create an exciting installation. For anyone wanting to submit work for the Art Prize, please visit http://www.copacc.com.au/Exhibitions/CrossXpollinatioN. Entries for COPACC’s Art Prize close on 1 June.
Another feather in COPACC’s cap is the market. Building on the success of past Wearable Art and Makers Markets, it is fondly known as WAAMM. The market is held on Saturday, 1 July from 10am to 4.30pm. This is a market with artists and artisans selling their wares. It attracts work in a wide variety of different mediums, including: hand woven textiles and garments, jewelry, leather, felted items, hand knits, machine embroidered pieces and homewares. Please note that once entries have reached capacity for WAAMM no more entries will be accepted. (Please note: The last call of entries has been extended to 20 May 2017)
