“eclectic” contemporary textiles by Kim Doherty
6 January @ 2:00 pm - 28 January @ 5:00 pm
Kim Doherty is thrilled to be exhibiting work at The Space in St. Leonards throughout January.
The exhibition title “eclectic” really describes Kim’s practice. With a passion for all things textile, and a curiosity for mixing media, Kim employs textile techniques such as hand-weaving and knitting using traditional and non-traditional materials, and found objects, to create a broad and varied range of work.
In this exhibition, you can expect to see a broad overview of Kim’s practice, including
- her signature, award-winning hand-woven scarves, woven with extremely fine yarns
- art pieces using found objects, hand-knitted or hand-woven wire & other materials, both for the wall & free-standing
- jewellery, including brooches & pendants
- soft furnishings in the form of art cushions
And perhaps a few surprises!!
So join Kim at 2pm on Saturday 6 January 2018 for a glass of wine & nibbles at the opening, or if you can’t make that time, the exhibition continues Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays in January 10am to 5pm. The Space is located in Blanche St., St. Leonards, directly behind Neville Richards Real Estate offices in the main street.
Make a day of it on the beautiful Bellarine!
