Inspirational stories of women interpreted through dance and drama

Posted 7 September 2017

A number of women’s lives are united when they discover their own stories are reflective of each other’s in a new show titled ‘Women’ to be performed at the Potato Shed in Drysdale.

Ideas of expectation, passion and inspiration unite them – strengthening their bond and own sense of identity

The complexities of their lives are interpreted through contemporary dance and drama providing a visual insight.

This original cross art form is conceived by Geelong based artist Sally K Pearson and co-choreographed and performed with her company Dance Initiative Productions.

Through dance and visual art making WOMEN personifies these real life concepts familiar to women throughout time. Where dance interprets story and painting illustrates dance, metres of blank canvas is transformed into an abstract field of coloured gestural impressions.

A show not to be missed, with cabaret style seating (bring your own nibbles and purchase drinks at the bar).

When: Saturday 16 September at 8pm

Where: Potato Shed, 20-41 Peninsula Drive, Drysdale
