Introduction to Glass Fusing
Create a fused glass window hanging

Description

In this Festival of Glass workshop you will learn how to cut glass – no previous experience is needed and you will become an “expert” at it by lunchtime!

You will understand the type of glass needed for this work and how it is fired in the kiln.

The project for this workshop is a fused glass window hanging. It will be fired overnight and be available the next day or at the Festival Expo on Sunday 19th.

David worked as a marine scientist for 30 years. His glass journey started in the 1970s with lead lighting and since then he has developed a considerable repertoire of techniques for working with kiln-formed glass.  He now devotes all his work time to creating art glass with a marine theme and teaching others to explore the magic of glass!

The workshop fee is $160. A $50 deposit through davidhobday.com/shop secures a place. The workshop fee covers all materials and use of equipment. The minimum participant age is 16 (or 10 if enrolled with an adult).

Bring safety glasses or full frame spectacles & wear closed shoes. Bring your own lunch.
