New single ‘Change’ from Geelong band Izzy Losi and the Auracles

Posted 6 April 2017

Izzy Losi and the Auracles are bursting back on the scene, offering listeners a brand new lyric video for their first single ‘Change’. Over $5,000 dollars was crowd funded by fans in 2015 for this new release; proving that people did want to hear more from Izzy Losi and the Auracles since their 2012 debut release ’Outlast The Storm’

‘Change’ prompts the question; “how do you know when trouble’s gonna strike?”.  Many aspects of life aren’t always under our control.  Looking beyond the monotony of daily life we see that the world is constantly changing around us. Memories forged in our minds are the only things taken with us. Heraclitus, a Greek philosopher famously said “change is the only constant in life.” This struck a chord with Izzy, and hence ‘Change’ was born, as well as the title of the new EP.

Izzy Losi (vocals/keys), Simon In’t Hout (bass), and Sean Williams (drums) are releasing the 6 track EP in May produced by Mark Leahy (The Twoks). Vyvienne Long, renowned Irish cellist, and former member of Damien Rice’s band features her outstanding musicianship on the forthcoming EP, after a chance encounter between herself and Izzy in Dublin, Ireland.

The 2016 Queenscliff Music Festival (QMF) Busking Competition winners, (earning a place on the official 21st QMF line up this November), have been juggling the “burdens of life” to get this new EP off the ground. This year Losi is solely focusing and committing to her songwriting and performing, leaving her full-time ‘traditional’ career on hold. Izzy Losi and the Auracles are often compared to artists like Florence and the Machine, Fleetwood Mac and Missy Higgins, their style drawing from contemporary, indie and rock with hints of pop and folk.

‘Change’ is available March 29 on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, Triple-J Unearthed and The new EP ‘The Only Constant is Change’ can be pre-ordered on CD, vinyl and digital download, including brand new merchandise, t-shirts, hoodies, and caps from the band’s website.
