artX Geelong – Calling for submissions
Accomplished and emerging artists’ latest artworks will be showcased at the 2018 artX (formerly KarnivART) from 9th May – 16th May at the Gordon Gallery in Geelong.
Celebrating the diversity of artists within the Geelong community, this year’s exhibition signals a new phase for the annual art show as it celebrates its 10th anniversary with a new name and new venue.
With works spanning wide-ranging genres from popular culture and nature, to sports and personal stories, the exhibition showcases a bevy of talented artists based in the Geelong region who identify as living with disability or mental illness.
A judging panel of three contemporary practising artists, all of whom live and work within the Geelong region, will award prizes to five artists.
artX is open to artists over the age of 16 who live in the Geelong region and identify as living with disability or mental illness. The exhibition encourages artists of every skill level and ability – from beginner to those with an emerging arts practice through to experienced – to enter a work.
Painting, drawing, photography and sculptural works are eligible for submission. Detailed entry conditions are listed at https://www.genu.org.au/artx.
To secure your entry, details of your work must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 6th April. Artwork will need to be delivered no later than 1 week prior to exhibition date.
