What is on offer?

Saturday 3 December 2016, 11am – 3pm, Geelong Cultural Precinct (including Johnstone Park) Little Malop St.

Pivot Summit Inc, the City of  Greater Geelong, Infoxchange and the Geelong Regional Library  Corporation have partnered to bring a digital technology community festival, as part of the National Year of Digital Inclusion (NYDI2016).

Pivot Summit 2016 is a one-day conference in Geelong on Friday 2 December 2016, that brings together thought leaders, innovators, digital pioneers and businesses from around the world to Geelong –  a rapidly growing technology and startup hub – to discuss all things digital, technology, entrepreneurship and business.

Day two of Pivot Summit is Pivot Connect on Saturday 3 December 2016. 11am to 3pm in Central Geelong’s Arts Precinct.  This is the People’s Day.

We are calling for Expressions of interest for people and organisations to take part in this community digital festival.

We are inviting schools, universities, artists, digital  developers, people with ideas, inventors, educators, gamers, performers, creatives, neighbourhood  houses, men’s sheds, steam punk designers, engineers, VR & AR or assistive technology designers, digital mediamakers and providers and  anyone else with skills to show and fun to share!

Expressions of Interest are welcomed from community organisations, schools, entertainers, tertiary institutions, artists, creatives, digital tech developers, inventors, crafters and others to participate, show off and engage in Pivot Connect.

The aim of Pivot Connect Festival is to bring digital technology and creative industries together for the Geelong community.

People will:

  • have their ‘minds blown’!
  • create, learn and experience – it will be accessible, fun, messy, loud, interactive and they’ll want more
  • see Geelong’s Future – people will be able to explore their own unique creative opportunities

This is the National Year of Digital Inclusion & also the International Day of People with Disability. All venues are accessible for people with disabilities

Who can submit an expression of interest to participate?

Calling disrupters from everywhere, hackers, artists, creatives, math/science, tech heads, organisations, (Game and App) developers, educators, inventors, steam-punkers, entertainers, futurists, people with ideas,  local groups, services, with a specific interest display, ICT courses, learning, fun.  You  are invited to apply to participate in this fun, community event.
