The 2018 Wooden Boat Festival Committee in association with the Royal Geelong Yacht Club invites artists from the Geelong region to participate in its inaugural Maritime Art Exhibition and Sale, from March 6 to 12 2018, to be held in the heritage listed Geelong Club, 75 Brougham St, Geelong

What is on offer?

Expressions of interest are sought from all artists working with maritime themes in painting, works on paper and small indoor/outdoor sculptures. Selected works will be exhibited and for sale during the Festival.
Expressions of interest should be submitted by 4.00pm Friday, 19 January 2018.
The Wooden Boat Festival, is a celebration of maritime culture. It is held biennially at the Royal Geelong Yacht Club and Geelong waterfront precinct and will return in 2018 with events to interest the whole community. A beautiful collection of classic and modern wooden boats is the heart of the festival with Tall Ships, historic rowing boats and a vast array of wooden yachts on display. The Festival also includes a diverse range of exhibits, on-water racing events, a boat building competition, classic car displays, live presentations and entertainment for all ages
In conjunction with the Festival we are honoured that the Geelong Gallery will be exhibiting selected maritime works from its own collection in a thematic cluster at the Geelong Art Gallery in Little Malop St.

Expressions of interest are sought from all local artists, emerging or established, working in any medium on a topic related to maritime themes

Wooden Boat Festival (The Royal Geelong Yacht Club, Eastern Beach) in collaboration with The Geelong Club, Brougham St.

Who is eligible and what is required?

Expressions of interest should be submitted either electronically or hardcopy (a jpg or hardcopy photo with the dimensions of the work, plus contact details and price must be included). All artists will be responded to.
Works chosen for display must be delivered to The Geelong Club on Friday March 3 2018 and unsold works collected on Tuesday 13 March 2018. Artists will be offered an opportunity to volunteer to man the exhibition.

How much does it cost?

Expression Of Interest is free. Entry for selected artists is $10.
