What is on offer?
Registrations are now open for Home is Where the Hall is 2016.
Home Is Where The Hall Is celebrates the creativity in our community halls.
At the heart of a town, the community hall provides a focal point, always ready for any gathering. Today it’s an art gallery, tomorrow it’s a theatre, next week it’s home to a flea market. In times of joy, the community hall houses weddings and celebrations; in difficult times, it’s where people gather quickly to face emergencies together.
Community halls are central to the ongoing project of making place. Their flexible form and their locally-driven uses continue to offer valuable insights for creative practice all across our regions as well as our cities. Each November, Regional Arts Victoria invites you to shine the spotlight on your community hall.
In 2014 we opened up our Home is Where the Hall is Project to Tasmania, with the support of Tasmanian Regional Arts, and in 2015 we also welcomed South Australia in partnership with Country Arts SA.
Submissions are open between Monday 1 August 2016 and Wednesday 30 November 2016
