Primary School Art Competition – Call for Entries
The Wooden Boat Festival invites entries from primary schools for our third Primary School Art Competition. Leading up to the 250th anniversary in 2020 of Capt. James Cook’s scientific voyage to the Pacific and Australia, and to honour all seafaring nations, the theme for 2018 is “ENDEAVOURS – Wind; water; courage”

What is on offer?

The Wooden Boat Festival is a celebration of Australia’s wonderful maritime culture. It is held biennially at the Royal Geelong Yacht Club and Geelong waterfront precinct with events to interest the whole community.
This art competition was introduced to encourage curiosity in the local maritime history and has been well supported by local schools interested in being involved in a significant local event.
Entries are judged by a representative of the Geelong Art Gallery with prizes presented during the festival at the Yacht Club, including the very popular “People’s Choice” award.
The Festival runs from March 10-12, 2018 at the Royal Geelong Yacht Club, Eastern Beach
