Furphy outdoor cinema returns to Geelong this summer
January 2018 – Geelong locals are in for a real treat as the Furphy Refreshing Ale outdoor cinema experience returns to the Little Creatures Brewery this January and February.
Over five weeks, moviegoers will be able to experience some of the most iconic Australian films to grace our screens. These include Chopper, Strictly Ballroom; Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Red Dog and Mad Max.
Locally brewed, Furphy is all about storytelling and bringing people together over a beer. And what better way to celebrate than inviting the good people of Geelong to come down and get amongst the outdoor cinema, whilst enjoying some of the best Australian stories on offer.
The Little Creatures Canteen will open its doors for guests to grab a bite to eat pre-screening, or to pick up some finger food to devour while kicking back on a bean bag or deck chair at the outdoor cinema, located within the Little Creatures Brewery Village.
The Little Creatures Brewery Village in Geelong has been transformed into what feels like Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, but for beer. And now, with the explosive growth of Furphy, we more than ever want to ensure we’re giving back to the community of Geelong with local events and things to do.
Marketing Manager of Furphy, Malcolm Eadie said: “We love to give back to those who have supported us every step of the way. What better way to enjoy the summer weather than watching an Aussie classic at Geelong’s own brewery with your mates over some great food and beer.”
Gates open to the cinema from 7.30pm giving moviegoers plenty of time before the 8.30pm screening to find the perfect spot and catch up with friends.
“The warmer months are the perfect time to get out and relax under the stars. We wanted to create a memorable experience through our outdoor cinema and we can’t wait to kick things off in January,” said Eadie.
Screenings will take place every Wednesday night from January 31 with the last screening on February 28. Tickets cost $20 for general admission and are available through Eventbrite.
