Valuable practical insights into Oral History recording
Posted 26 April 2018
Sarah Rood will present a rare workshop next week on how to prepare questions; about the forms, the ethics and permissions involved; and the top tips to a good interview. Sarah uses real examples to illustrate some of the pitfalls and some of the gems from actual interviews.
You will have the opportunity to practise writing questions, as well as to conduct a short interview. Sarah will discuss different recording devices, but please bring what you have – it may be as simple as a recording app on your mobile phone, iPad or a more professional recorder.
Suitable for representatives from community based history/heritage/ collection groups with an interest in recording oral histories; you will gain valuable practical insights into how to do oral history.
Thursday 3rd May, 10am to 4pm Geelong Library & Heritage Centre
