Wander Geelong & the Bellarine
Posted 29 June 2017
The Wander Geelong & the Bellarine Campaign starts this Friday 30 June 2017.
This campaign is being coordinated by Tourism Greater Geelong & the Bellarine targeting the ‘visiting friends and relatives’ segment for the school holidays. Built on some of the successful elements of the 2016 Treasure Adventure, with a styled ‘scavenger hunt’ around the region, incorporating public spaces and venues.
New this year will be the use of augmented reality at locations, where clues and hints will be revealed by scanning over on-site campaign material with a mobile device. This augmented reality capacity will be built in to the Geelong and The Bellarine App, so participants will need to download the App to play.
It involves people going to local businesses, like the National Wool Museum, to scan a mystery object. The NWM mystery object is the National Wool Museum sign at the front door (see below). People scan the sign using the app which then unlocks a puzzle for them to solve.
