Applications open for 2020-2021 Grants

City of Greater Geelong has announced more than $4.33 million in funding. The expanded 2020-21 Grants program provides opportunities for community groups and organisations to apply and receive funding support. The program encourages and promotes the funding of new and innovative projects across a range of sectors and industries. See below the full list of grant programs, applications will open Friday 17th July.

COVID-19 Quick Response Community grants of up to $2,000
COVID-19 Arts, Culture and Heritage Recovery, up to $5,000
Community Infrastructure, up to $350,000
Central Geelong Heritage, up to $70,000
Community Events, up to $10,000
Healthy and Connected Communities -Community Projects, up to $10,000
Healthy and Connected Communities -Equipment purchases, up to $2,000
Creative Communities -for Arts Projects and Festivals, up to $10,000
Environmental Sustainability, up to $10,000

Acting Mayor Kylie Grzybek said,We’re looking for diverse and innovative projects and programs that help support, enrich or improve the local community.  During the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve seen local people and groups come up with many clever ways to brighten up their neighbourhood or extend support to others in their community. As difficult as this period has been, it’s also brought us plenty of inspiration, and strengthened our community spirit.”

Cr Anthony Aitken (Chair, Council Finance portfolio) said,These grants are a massive opportunity for the community with a total of $4.3 million available across a wide range of categories in 2020-21, from small equipment purchases to significant infrastructure projects with a grant value of up to $350,000. I encourage everyone to visit the website to see if any of the grants are suitable for your group or organisation and especially look at the two new categories specifically related to COVID-19, Quick Response Community Grants of up to $2,000 and the Arts, Culture and Heritage Recovery Grants, up to $5,000.We are looking for innovative ideas that benefit and support the community and drive the region’s social recovery during this challenging time.”
