I’m an Apollo Bay resident who took up photography in 1976 with a half-frame camera and 35mm color transparency film. About 1980 I began using a Canon SLR, and continued with slide film until switching to digital photography in 2002.
In 2005, after many years in Melbourne I moved to Apollo Bay, close to a rocky point with a fascinating range of prehistoric shapes and colours at low tide. With some patient exploration and quiet moments of observation, inspiration for interpretation of the natural forms is not hard to find, and magic dimensions can form in the lens for recording.
With an ongoing interest in fine landscape details and reflection imaging, I’ve been exhibiting and selling work in the Otways since 2011. And most recently I’ve exhibited at Gallery 69, Smith St, Fitzroy in October 2014.
