Biography
About
Born in England, she first picked up clay at the age of 16 purely by coincidence and immediately fell in love with the material. The next few years were a whirlwind of accomplishing a Diploma in Illustration to improve her drawing skills and a BA Hons Degree in Ceramic Design. After graduating, she went on to work for an English ceramic company, learning to make and hand paint tiles. After 5 years, she left to set up her own tile business doing private commissions for peoples kitchens and bathrooms. Then in 2005 Elaine, with her partner and 2 children, made the best decision of her life and emigrated to Australia. Her work today is a collaboration of two true loves – painting and clay.
In addition to her growing range of retail products, Elaine also regularly exhibits her work and she can also be found doing the occasional market! She currently has her own studio on the property where she lives – complete with pottery wheels and kilns. Everything is designed and hand made by Elaine and it is here you will find her most contented and at peace with the world. |
