The Embroiderers Guild of Victoria, Geelong Branch
The Embroiderers Guild welcomes all embroiderers and textile workers from beginners to expert levels. We have groups in special interest areas from traditional embroidery and patchwork to textile art. Geelong Branch runs workshops and classes throughout the year in various techniques.

Biography

The Geelong Branch of The Embroiderers Guild of Victoria was established in 1968. We currently have around 100 members. Our aim is to promote the exchange of ideas amongst those interested in embroidery and textile work. Members meet at Sit and Sew sessions on the second Monday of each month, and also on the 4th Saturday, at St Davids Hall, in Newtown. We welcome beginners and visitors to our meetings and conduct classes in special interest areas. We have groups in special interest areas from traditional embroidery and patchwork to textile art. An exhibition of our work, as a member of the Artisans of Geelong, will be held at The Gordon Gallery, Cnr Fenwick St and Gordon Ave. On April 8th and 9th, 2017. A Retrospective Exhibition, “A Touch of Nostalgia” will be held at St Davids Hall, Newtown on Sept 8th, 9th and 10th. 2017. ¬†See our web site embroiderygeelong.org for¬†further information
