Joel Wolter is a visual artist and printmaker who resides on the Victorian surf coast. Born in Geelong in 1978, Joel holds a Diploma in Visual Arts from the Gordon Institute of Tafe, a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Victorian College of the Arts and a Graduate Diploma in Education from The University of Melbourne.
Joel’s artwork has been exhibited widely around Geelong, Melbourne and Australia. His artworks have been selected and represented in many significant national art exhibitions including the Geelong Acquisitive Print Awards, the Rick Amor Print Prize, the Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize and Print Traditions – Sources of Australian Printmaking at the Geelong Gallery. His work has been acquired for major public collections including the Geelong Gallery, the Victorian College of the Arts, the State Library of Victoria and the Parliament of Australia.
Joel has more than ten years’ experience working as a professional printmaker, technician and edition printer for some of Australia’s most highly regarded artists and printmaking studios, including Senior Printer at Port Jackson Press in Melbourne, Australia.
In addition to his own art practice, Joel can also provide edition printing services and printmaking workshops for artists in his home studio. He also provides private commission services to clients.
