Biography

I am a practising artist and educator in both visual arts and music, having retired as a secondary college music teacher. I work mostly with oils but also work with acrylics and have had a number of solo exhibitions over the last twenty years and many group exhibitions. The most recent solo exhibition was held at Hawthorn Studio Gallery in 2017. My subjects range from various forms of landscape to portraits and figure painting. I ran a life drawing group on the Peninsula for eight years and tutored at Mornington Life Drawing group during 2017-18. I was also a tour guide at Heide MOMA and McClelland Gallery for a total of twelve years which has given me a solid knowledge bass in the subject of Australian art and would like to take on the same role at Geelong Gallery in the future. Having moved to Geelong just recently, I am looking for tutoring work and would also be happy to present talks and teach about the history and practise of art in this country. My CV can be found on my website at ngairejohansen.com
