Christmas – time at the Shed

As the most magical time of the year approaches, the Potato Shed in Drysdale will shed a little light on Christmas with lights and projections to bring us all some much needed holiday cheer.

We are Back! – Artists of the Potato Shed is a photography exhibition that captures moments in the performances of 23 actors, musicians and singers in their performances at the Potato Shed over the last 18 months.

The performing arts industry was one of the first industries to be shut down due to the global pandemic  and will be one of the last to re-open. The impact on the industry and those who work within it has been profound.

Each featured performing artist in the curated exhibition has provided a brief overview of their career and the impact of Coronavirus on their livelihood. They also outline their hopes for when the industry opens up again.

This information is displayed under each of the photographs.

After the opening of We are Back! 5 local musicians, the Von Robertsons and Jack Meredith will entertain attendees on an outside stage. The event will also be live streamed.

Entry to the exhibition opening and the live and streamed performance is free.

Bookings are essential as numbers are strictly limited, as per COVID-19 restricted guidelines.

Donations appreciated to assist in the funding of the exhibition and musical performance.

The photographs will be on display at the Potato Shed for 12 months.

This event will be held within current COVID-19 health guidelines, as per the Victorian Government roadmap to reopening.

This project is supported by the City of Greater Geelong through its COVID-19 Arts, Culture and Heritage Recovery Grants Program and the Bendigo Bank.
