COLOUR ME RAD, is now complete!

The COGG-funded project, COLOUR ME RAD, is now complete!

The project rationale was around addressing disadvantage in the Whittington area, by engaging local youth in a free street art mentorship program, under the guidance of accomplished local artist Mandy Dollery (Geelong Illustrators and How You See It Art).

There were around 6 project participants, of varying abilities and backgrounds; majority from the 3219 postcode – who helped ‘colour’ Apollo Place ‘rad’! Check out the COLOUR ME RAD journey in pictures: https://www.facebook.com/EncompassCS/posts/2229927940408047

Since the project started, there has been no vandalism/graffiti in the area. It also added colour, vibrance, and energy to what used to be an extremely derelict/miserable but amazing space that has lots of potential. Definitely a project WIN!

An afternoon tea celebrating the achievements of these young local artists is happening on Friday 10th May, 4.30-6pm at Encompass’ social enterprises site – 21 Apollo Pl, Whittington. RSVP Mon 6th May via info@encompass-cs.org.au or call 5222 3377.

The COLOUR ME RAD project was funded by the City of Greater Geelong  through the 2018-19 Creative Communities Grants Program.
