Digital Library at your fingertips

A new digital resource is here. Your Library @ Home.

Your Library @Home

Still supporting the community the Geelong Regional Libraries have launched a new digital resource.

The platform brings together a range of educational, informative and entertaining video and audio content, including virtual events, online resources and links to quality information and cultural experiences.

The hub provides free content that is suitable for children & families, youth and adults. You can discover:

  • Story Time @ Home videos, featuring your favourite Children and Youth Services librarians, stories and songs
  • Podcasts of author encounters and sessions from the Word for Word Non-Fiction Festival
  • Useful digital resources from the library’s eCollection
  • Links to free online cultural experiences from around the globe
  • Links to websites providing topical information and resources.

Cr Ron Nelson, Chair of Geelong Regional Libraries, says that people rightly turn to public libraries as a source of reliable information as well as for entertainment and resources – and in the current environment may rely on libraries more than ever.

“Now, more than ever before, people are looking for authoritative and reliable information, as well as opportunities for social interaction and quality entertainment. We are pleased to be able to continue to deliver on our commitment to providing access to these things in a digital capacity,” Cr Nelson says.

“Like many organisations around the world, we have struggled with the enormity of closing our physical doors to the public. But we are proud be finding innovative and practical ways to connect with our customers during this difficult time,” Cr Nelson says.
