Fabric and Stitch Collage, Weekend Workshop with Lindsay Hussey

23 February 2019 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

| $45

Try something different this weekend and next! If you already love textiles or if you’re just curious how you can create collage with needle and thread, you’re welcome to join textile artist Lindsay Hussay on Saturday mornings over two weeks.

In Lindsay’s workshop, you will make a small collage using fabric and simple stitching. No previous experience is needed, and all materials and equipment will be provided. Your finished collage will be ready to take home and hang on your wall–and post to Instagram to show your family and friends as well!

Note: This workshop starts on Satruday 23 February, but also continues Saturday 2 March, from 10.30-12.30pm on both days (4 hours total)

Cost: $40, plus $5 materials fee ($45 total). Use the email or phone number below to book your place.

Textile artist Lindsay Hussey uses her work to explore the constructed environment. Her current work celebrates the complexity and vibrancy of urban life, the many layers that make up cities and the way we live in them. She uses colour and texture, layering textiles and stitch, to reflect this complexity. After living in Barcelona for 15 months, visiting many cities in Europe and Morocco, Lindsay returned to Australia inspired by the different ways we construct our environment. Before or after the workshop, take the opportunity to view the works by Lindsay and other artists in the ‘Creativity Cluster’ exhibition at the Renew Geelong Concept Space, 107 Moorabool Street, in the Market Square Shopping Centre (which is also where the workshop is being held).
