Pastel Pencil Demonstration – Colleen Beveridge

2 May @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

| $20 per person inc. light refreshments

Demonstration Series – 1st Saturday of the month

“The medium I love working with is pastel pencils. For years I learnt everything I could about pastels (too messy!), then moved to coloured pencils (so slow!) & then discovered the perfect combination of both.”

As part of the demonstration series being hosted at Artisans of Australia, we are excited to have the wonderful Colleen Beveridge attending the studios to give a demonstration in pastel pencils. During this 3hr demonstration Colleen intends to share everything she has learnt about this medium – including which are the best pencils, paper, web sites and techniques. There may even be time for a little trial yourself!

Although Colleen would class herself as an ‘enthusiast hobby artist’, we are sure you will agree that her work is pretty special, displaying a natural talent for her medium and capturing her ‘realism’ style with a flair, usually adding something more. Her favourite subject matter is animals, including numerous pet portrait commissions.

This medium provides a particularly good starting point for anyone keen to take up drawing but not knowing where to begin. It is a relatively inexpensive starting point, and you can achieve truly captivating things with a simple piece of paper and pastel pencil, and a bit of determination (and practice) thrown in the mix.

Head down to the studios to reserve and pay for your space, or visit the Artisans of Australia store to purchase online.
