Great Ocean Road Art and Technology Project is SEEKING APPLICATIONS NOW  !

The national heritage listed Great Ocean Road is one of the most iconic drives in the world. 2019 marks 100 years since the commencement of the journey to build the Great Ocean Road in which we will celebrate this significant milestone in history, in September.

The public art project, a combination of design, artistic expression and technology, encourages visitors to sit down, slow down and enjoy the views, with opportunity to activate a QR experience, which shares the story of the area.

Great Ocean Road Tourism is seeking experienced artists for the design and production of abstract murals incorporated into newly designed contemporary seating placed along the Great Ocean Road.

Drawing inspiration from a number of themes the proposed abstract works need to reflect the environment of the town within which the structure is located along the Great Ocean Road and the elements of water and/or surrounding natural environment.

The aim is to encourage interaction and curiosity to the local natural environment, the history of the area and the significance of the road.

With a pressed deadline in place the mural/s must be completed by 1 September 2019 to coincide with Great Ocean Road centenary celebrations, to shortly follow.
