Geelong Art Society launches the annual Shearers Arms Portrait Prize

Shearers Arms Portrait Prize – all about the person 

…is open for submissions and will no doubt attract the best local talent. Submissions will be judged this year by Watercolourist Ted Dansey, Fellow of The Victorian Artists Society, Melb.
The exhibition will be open from 23rd October to 18th November 2018.

The Shearer’s Arms gallery which dated back to 1847 was acquired by the Society in1987 and is now its base. It contains a large purpose built studio, four gallery display rooms, a well-equipped office and a kitchen. The building is the oldest surviving building in Geelong West.

The Geelong Art Society is Geelong’s oldest, and contiuest to host a range of activities including regular art classes and Workshops, exhibitions and competitions.
