Geelong Arts Centre Announces An Extended Closure

A message from Joel McGuinness, CEO of the Geelong Arts Centre has announced the heartbreaking but essential decision to remain closed until 30 June 2020.

Through this extended closure, Geelong Arts Centre continues to play its part in helping to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Victoria and in keeping the community safe.

Understanding that this is a difficult time for the industry as a whole. The velocity and enormity of this crisis is unparalleled.

Geelong Arts Centre and our Trust are working to find new ways to keep our lights shining, support creativity and artists, and create ways to connect in this isolation. They want to return to normal programming as soon as possible, providing employment to our artistic community and welcoming our loyal audiences back to our centre.

In the meantime, they are committed to bringing you #WhereCreativityMeetsAtHome – an initiative to share live performances, behind the scenes moments and creative activities on our website and social media channels for our audiences to enjoy from wherever they are and whoever they are with.

“We urge everyone to continue to follow the advice and directives of government health authorities. For the most up to date information and advice:” – Joel McGuinness
