Geelong Region venues & artists represented in the 2020 Music Victoria Awards
Music Victoria hosted the first of its two awards ceremonies on the 8th of October. The ceremony was held virtually and saw the organisation reveal the winners of its first-ever live-streamed Industry Awards.
Geelong Region & G21 Venues and Musicians were well represented with Barwon Club Hotel landing top accolade, winning Best Regional Venue, other venues and artists receiving nominations and Chris Wilson being announced as inductee into the Hall of Fame.
BEST REGIONAL/OUTER SUBURBAN VENUE – OVER 50 GIGS/YR
Winner: Barwon Club Hotel – Geelong
Nominated: Torquay Hotel
BEST FESTIVAL
Winner: Golden Plains Festival (Meredith)
Nominated: Queenscliff Music festival
BEST REGIONAL/OUTER SUBURBAN VENUE – UNDER 50 GIGS/YR
Nominated: Blues Train
Voting for all public-voted categories are NOW OPEN until Friday 6 November.
The winners will be announced on the 9th of December in a ceremony held at the Melbourne Recital Centre. A huge congratulations to the Geelong regional artists nominated.

- BEST REGIONAL/OUTER SUBURBAN ACT – 2 nominations: Bones and Jones (Geelong) & The Kite Machine (Geelong West)
- HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE To be inducted on December 9 at the Music Victoria Awards at Melbourne Recital Centre: Chris Wilson (musician)
