Geelong Youth put their Spin on Christmas

In a Geelong first, some of Geelong’s youngest musicians will be presenting their innovative take on Christmas with a new carols show at the Black Hatt in Geelong on December 7 7:30pm.
The event titled “Christmas at the Piano” will be a showcase of some of Geelong’s finest young musicians performing both popular and lesser known carols from both classical and jazz traditions presented in the intimate environment of the Black Hatt.
Christmas at the Piano will feature new arrangements of carols plus a new carol with will be premiered on the night written by acclaimed Surf Coast composer Callum Watson.
Watson says “I think Geelong is ready for a new small-scale carols event specifically showcasing Geelong’s best youth performers. We want to try something a bit different and I think such an event will fit nicely in the Geelong Christmas calendar”.
