Launch – Colour Me Rad Project Friday 10 May

Posted 9 May 2019

The City of Greater Geelong funded project, COLOUR ME RAD, an initiative of Encompass Community Services, is now complete!

The project rationale was around addressing disadvantage in the Whittington area, by engaging local youth in a free street art mentorship program, under the guidance of accomplished local artist Mandy Dollery (Geelong Illustrators and How You See It Art). There were around 6 project participants, of varying abilities and backgrounds; majority from the 3219 postcode – who helped ‘colour’ Apollo Place ‘rad’! Since the project started, there has been no vandalism/graffiti in the area. It also added colour, vibrance, and energy to what used to be an extremely derelict/miserable but amazing space that has lots of potential. Definitely a project WIN!

An afternoon tea celebrating the achievements of these young local artists is happening on Friday 10th May, 4.30-6pm at Encompass’ social enterprises site – 21 Apollo Pl, Whittington. RSVP via or call 5222 3377.
