Lampwork Glass – the Basics for Beginners
Bellarine glass artist Glenda Mac Naughton shows beginners how to melt and sculpt glass with a gas/oxygen torch.

Description

Glenda is a local glass artist who has been lampworking for nearly 10 years. She teaches as part of the Festival of Glass mentorship program, has learnt from and assisted in workshops with several glass masters from Murano (Venice, Italy) and now teaches in her home studio in Drysdale.

1 Day Program: 7 February 2020 Basic skills for sculpting hot glass in the flame. We will cover the basics of using a gas and oxygen fuelled torch to soften glass safely and then explore different techniques for shaping the glass into small simple sculptures. (Essential experience prior to the program with Mauro Bonaventura if you have no previous experience of lampwork).
