Think foreign smells, tastes and spices, vibrant colours, and astonishing sights and views.

Leiko’s exhibition is a representation of her travels to India as a backpacker displaying full of foreign familiarity and mesmerising beauty.

Courthouse Youth Arts has launched and welcomed her back to exhibit yet another mind blowing exhibition, one that simply cannot be missed.

Leiko was introduced to photography back in 2011 when she did work experience as a sound engineer for Spinning Half. She then went on to study a Cert IV in Photoimaging at RMIT University.

Leiko, India

The best way to describe Leiko’s work would be vibrant with a hell lot of kick in it. Leiko is passionate about travel and documenting the local culture of the places that she visits. Her works are inspirational, powerful and a reflection of life and its surroundings.

“This collection represents my journey through India; as a backpacker, I felt a need to capture the sensory overload I was enduring. The smells, colours and language were all so intriguing. I desired to share the essence of this experience with a medium I know best, photography. This body of work is focused on people and India’s colourful culture. The large canvas represents the highlights, places and emotions encountered during my travels.”

Leikos exhibition will be running until July 17th 2019.
