Living a rich and creative life in Geelong

Court House Youth Arts new Executive Producer, Alexandra McTavish, writes in her first newsletter for the organisation:

“I want Courthouse Youth Arts to be a place where young people gather to speak up – to let it all out – to share our experience of what we’re all living through, so you can go home again with some faith in humanity and a sense of purpose…I am so proud to lead an organisation with such a rich history doing just that, here in Geelong.

With this in mind, I invite you to read through what we have coming up at CHYA and ask you to get involved! There’s free School Holiday Workshops, two Gallery exhibits, opportunities to work with Malthouse Melbourne and most importantly, I want to be inundated with pitches and proposals for what you want to see/hear and do at your Courthouse in 2018 and beyond!”

Alex brings more than fifteen years experience in the arts to her role at Courthouse Youth Arts.

She is a cultural entrepreneur, actor, writer, producer and director who in 2013 became one of YWCA’s Queensland Leading Women as co-founder of Anywhere Theatre Festival.

“I am delighted to be writing to you in my new capacity as Executive Producer here at Courthouse Youth Arts.”
