What is on offer?
For our arts and heritage community, two grant streams are available for a limited time outside the main annual grant rounds
Creative Communities – Quick Response stream *for groups only
Grants of up to $1,500 to support urgent arts, culture and heritage projects whose timelines prevent the applicant from applying within the main Creative Communities Grants round, or to provide a response to an urgent community need, like bushfire relief efforts for example. (conditions apply – see guidelines at https://www.geelongaustralia.com.au/grants/article/item/8d38f990f9c3be4.aspx )
Creative Communities – Professional Development stream *for individuals
Do you want to attend an arts, culture or heritage Professional Development opportunity, but are struggling to afford it?
Grants of up to $1,000 are available to support individuals to attend selected professional and skill development opportunities including artist residencies. Conditions apply (see guidelines at https://www.geelongaustralia.com.au/grants/article/item/8d38f990f9c3be4.aspx ). Applicants must be a permanent resident of the Greater Geelong municipality and provide at least three letters of support for their participation from respected arts/heritage industry leaders or organisations.
A SPECIAL NOTE:
The on-going devastation wrought by recent bushfires has greatly impacted all who live in the local communities immediately affected by this tragedy.
Like many in the communities affected, artists have lost their way of life and livelihood, including art supplies, artworks, studios and, in some cases, homes.
The arts can be a powerful way to assist communities affected by bush-fires with the recovery process, and to assist with the enormous task of healing in the face of deep pain, grief and trauma.
If you are considering an arts-based fire relief project or residency, the PD and QRG grants may be an appropriate funding avenue.
