What is on offer?
Recipients of an Arts Industry Commission are calling for people to participate in the Palais Memory Project.
The purpose is to collect, document and interview anyone who has had a connection with the Palais Theatre, a significant cultural heritage building on Moorabool Street Geelong.
Whilst recognizing the shared memories of seeing bands in the 1980s such as INXS and Motorhead at the Palais, the project seeks to delve deeper by speaking to experiences and how the experiences have helped shape or impacted your life.
You may have played in a band at the Palais, or attended bingo, or maybe you worked there.
Whether your memory dates from 1950s or in the 1990s, the Palais Memory Project is about exploring and documenting your experiences at the Palais and the communities that grew out of this connection, a celebration of the influence of the Palais in the every-day life of people who call Geelong home.
Your memories and your personal contribution to the building will benefit the future potential and outcomes of the venue.
