The Women in Community Life Awards are now open for nomination.

Recognising women in the Geelong region who make a difference within the community.

Presented annually to outstanding women in the Geelong region, the awards acknowledge that through their work, volunteering and community focus contribute not only to increased participation of women and girls in community leadership, advocacy, and decision making but improving community life for the whole community in our region.

Please consider women you know, you admire and applaud for their efforts to make things better not only for women and girls but for all of us across Geelong.

There are 5 nomination categories:

  1. First Nations Woman in Community Life Award
    Proudly supported by Christine Couzens MP, Member for Geelong
  2. Women in Community Life Award Human Rights and Gender Equality Award
    Proudly supported by The Sexual Assault and Family Violence Centre
  3. Women in Community Life Award Living with a Disability Award
    Proudly supported by Barwon Health
  4. Women in Community Life Award Leading Gender Equality in Sport Award
    Proudly supported by the Leisure Networks
  5. Women in Community Life Leadership in Women’s Health Award
    Proudly supported by Jean Hailes for Women’s Health

An Overall – Women in Community Life Award will also be selected from our category finalists which is proudly supported by Women’s Health and Wellbeing Barwon South West.

The awards will be presented to the winners at the gala presentation evening to be held from 6.00pm on Friday 6 March 2020 at The Geelong Arena to mark International Women’s Day.

This years keynote speaker is Nova Peris OAM OLY MAICD.
