Description of Venue
The School of Lost Arts is an artist-run teaching studio in the grounds of one of Geelong’s most historic properties. In the garden of this one acre property in Newtown, Mary-Jane Walker has developed her studio (surrounded by chooks and organic vegetable beds) and now offers popular workshops.
It has played host to a number of visiting artists and provides a unique learning environment where skills are taught and exchanged. Talks provide the chance to hear from leading practitioners and full day workshops are run with small classes. Take a break for lunch and enjoy Mary-Jane’s hospitality in her stunning 1840’s home, around the big wooden table beside the cosy wood stove – the perfect opportunity to chat and share creative ideas!
